OpenBagTwo's Custom Items

OpenBagTwo's Custom Items

A pack that adds custom items to the game without replacing the originals. When paired with an accompanying datapack, appropriately named brewing stands will be turned into coffee makers, and hoppers named "Enderman 3 Pro" will become 3D printers.

The Future of Custom Item Models

by OpenBagTwo on Apr 17, 2025
Download

This release drops support for Minecraft older than 1.21.5 in favor of making the custom model functionality available entirely without datapacks (though datapacks are still provided for the coffee brewing).

Furthermore, the packs are now available separately (so you don't need the custom steam deck model if all you're after is the Hermit totems) from my GitHub, though an all-in-one combined pack is still available, both for convenience and because otherwise you couldn't use multiple packs that apply custom models to carved pumpkins. Make sure to read the READMEs of the individual packs for usage instructions (read: the custom names to give each item)!

Season X Totems

by OpenBagTwo on Dec 27, 2024
Download

This release adds Totems of Undying for the new Season X Hermits ("3D Printable" using the "filenames" joel.gcode and skizz.gcode, respectively) while also updating the Totem of JoeHills to his "Juppet" skin.

All I Want for Xmas is a Fancy Tricorder

by OpenBagTwo on Dec 24, 2024
Download

This release adds a functional tricorder (custom compass). I'm ridiculously pleased with how it turned out.

The Pale Update

by OpenBagTwo on Dec 22, 2024
Download

This release updates my custom items datapack and resourcepack! to be compatible with Minecraft 1.21.4 and its funky new custom model data syntax.

To see how I went about porting everything, have a look at this notebook

Additionally, this release adds a new carved pumpkin model: a wig to make a player (with a suitably blue skin) look like an Andorian.

All-in-one datapack

by OpenBagTwo on Jul 6, 2024
Download

This release contains no changes to the resourcepack (which is re-uploaded here for convenience), but now rather than there being multiple datapacks for different game versions, this release uses overlays to maintain compatibility across all supported versions, including 1.21 (though, note, not 1.20.6)

Frenched and Linted

by OpenBagTwo on Feb 3, 2024
Download
  • All files have been run through an auto-linter for easier readability and maintainability
    • An issue with a broken language file has been fixed
  • Renames Lapis Lazuli (the item and related blocks) to "French Blue Stuff"

Merry Eggsmas

by OpenBagTwo on Dec 25, 2023
Download

Resourcepack Changes

  • The hermit egg models from iJevin's 2022 Hermitcraft Easter Egg Hunt have been added to the Chappeau Resourcepack, both as carved pumpkin variants as well as variants of, well, eggs (making them throwable!)

Datapack Changes

  • Eggs are now "3D printable"
  • Releases will now include both a datapack validated for 1.20.3+ and a "legacy" version that works with 1.20.1-

What's in a Name?

by OpenBagTwo on Dec 19, 2023
Download

Turns out, quite a lot.

Due to changes in pack formats, several of the existing packs will no longer function on 1.20.4. Additionally, that update entirely broke the datapack "printing" functionality thanks to how custom names are stored in block and item NBT.

See: https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-267451

In addition to adding 1.20.4 support, this release:

  • restores 3D printing and brewing functionality to the datapack (both old and new blocks and "gcode" paper will work).
  • allows you to generate Totems of Iskall using paper named iskall.gcode
  • results in an ender pearl being called an "Ender Pearl" when using both the Moonescent Pearl and "Chappeau" datapack, so long as "Chappeau" is higher in priority
  • Accounts for the name change of the "grass" block (not to be confused with the "grass block" block) to "short grass"

  • Updates the Steam Deck image

An Oddish Crop of Updates

by OpenBagTwo on Dec 12, 2022
Download

What's Changed

  • Replaces the Oddish model with my own low-poly version
  • Bugfix! 3D printers will no longer print to adjacent beds
  • Turn stone and iron swords into sewing needles -- if you're not a knitter or have never been stabbed by one, trust me, they're sharp
  • Updates the name of "Scarlet Pearl" to "5am Pearl"
